The maverick "Akbar Mohamadi" has joined the Freedom Stars
SMCCDI (Public Statement)

The maverick "Akbar Mohamadi" passed away, on July 30, 2006, in the infamous Evin Prison located in Tehran.

Mohamadi was arrested in connection to the 1999 Students Uprising and was, often, subjected to harsh tortures. Condemned to death, in September 1999, his sentence was commuted to 15 years of imprisonment following International pressures on the Islamic regime.

Despite his poor physical conditions, he undertook a hunger strike which will lead to his death on Sunday night. His guards are believed to have been able to save his life, but apparently, they preferred adopting a coward position in order to let Akbar die and, by this way, to let his initial sentence of execution to become effective.

The well known human rights activist never abdicated from his principles and humanistic believes, despite all pressures exerted by the Islamic republic regime, and he always stood for the cause of freedom in Iran.

Mohamadi's last words, toward his guards, have been reported as being that "he'll see the day that all Evins of Iran, will be transformed into parks that they will become the symbol of a new peaceful Iran freed of tyranny".

SMCCDI and its members are, hereby, expressing their deepest condolences to Akbar Mohamadi's family and especially to Manouchehr - his imprisoned brother-, his fellow student comrades, the Iranian People and to the World's freedom lovers.

May he rest in peace and may his path be consistent!

July 9th Uprising Cherished Amid Security Measures and Dispear
SMCCDI (Information Service)
Jul 9, 2006, 23:19

http://daneshjoo.org/publishers/currentnews/article_6704.shtml

Iranian students cherished, today, the legacy of July 9, 1999, Students' Uprising amid increased security measures, by the Islamic regime, and many Iranians' anger from the illegitimate actions of some controversial abroad sources which are trying to create them a false leadership.

Small groups of students gathered in order to mark moments of silence by paying tribute to the martyrs of the secularist and national student movement, while trying to avoid providing any opportunity to few adventurers who are seeking to surf their aspirations.

Various tries of high jacking the genuine Iranian secularist movement, resulting in a drastic reduction of Iranian students' and secularists' activities, have started since two years ago and have lead to an unprecedented negative situation while the Islamic regime was never under such dreamed International pressure.

Many students and Iranians, in general, are rejecting the deals made between part of the Iranian opposition and groups or individuals which were, till very recently, parts of the theocratic regime. Most Iranians reject the tries of some American think tanks in order to promote discredited separatists or adventurers as a kind of Iran solution.

The negative trend started, two years ago, with a so-called Referendum Movement which was in reality a try, by former Islamist technocrats having found 'refuge' in the US, to take over a well known Iranians' slogan for free elections, after the downfall of the theocratic regime, on the choice of a future secular frame of governance.

The same Islamic technocrats were the promoters of Khatami Administration and the sham theory of "reforms from within the theocratic regime". In reality, this group is intending to save its illegitimate financial assets and power as it happened during to so-called democratization of Russia.

Unfortunately, some opportunist abroad based Iranian groups or individuals, looking  more to take political power than defending principles valued by most Iranians, tried to rally to such solution but discredited more themselves while helping to destroy the hope placed by many Iranians in the outside opposition. In that line, the so-called "Iran Constitutionalist Party" (CPI), the self proclaimed "National Union for Democracy in Iran" (NUDI), the so-called "Iran Referendum Movement", part of the so-called "Iran National Front" and various individuals, such as, Darioush Homayoon, Bijan Mehr, Mandana Zand Karimi (Ervin),  Potkin Azarmehr, Amir-Abas Fakhravar, Banafshe Poor-Zand, Pooya Dayanim, Khosrow Beytollahi, Sharyar Ahi, and Mehrdad Khonsari are to be named and blamed.

Members of the NUDI went even ahead, last September, by threatening the SMCCDI and its coordinator of future reprisals when getting power in Iran. A named Amir Rafii, close to an ousted member of Prince Reza Pahlavi's office staff named Kamran Beigui and founder of the NUDI, even declared that his group has gathered a file on Aryo Pirouznia, the SMCCDI Coordinator, and that he should be careful about his future in Iran. Other sources have reported about how Beigui himself was trying to use of his influence, when at the office of Mr. Pahlavi, in order to undermine the SMCCDI.

These controversial sources and individuals have been often helped, in their destructive path, by radio and TV presentators, such as, the opportunist Ali-Reza Noorizadeh, the self centered Saeed Ghaem-Maghami, the ideologist Hossein Mohri and the money oriented Shahram Homayoon.

Unfortunately, some American think tanks, in a desperate need of a kind of Iran solution, have endorsed or promoted at times, such wrong groups or individuals and their ill-policies despite warnings and request made for a better appreciation by their part. Worst, these same American sources are known for using of their influence in order to undermine SMCCDI, the Iran National Secular Party and other genuine secularist and nationalist opposition groups, as they opposed their illegitimate try to promote discredited and fascist separatist elements.

It is such wrong moves that are fueling Islamic regime's propaganda machine and the mullhas' lobbyists efforts in order to try to undermine President Bush's popularity among Iranians.

Such persistent problems leading to a negative cycle of action-reaction, broadcasted by some LA based Satellite TV and radio networks, have resulted in a total discredit of the Classical Iranian opposition and even of part of the US Administration.

Abroad, the situation is not better and such negative parameters have contributed to an unprecedented split among the Iranian Diaspora. July 9th commemoration, last year, didn't gather more than 300 in Los Angeles, and today, the number dropped to less than 200 demonstrators. Already the warning signal was on as less than 90 individuals gathered, on July 6 in Los Angeles, in order to attend a meeting qualified as organized by a leadership for Iranian students and intending to call on a massive demonstration this year.

Los Angeles is home to over half a million Iranians and was a bastion of opposition to the Islamic regime gathering each time several thousands of demonstrators.

The Epic of July 9, 1999, struck when security forces of the Islamic regime broke into the dormitories of the students at Amir-Abad. Next, the students were surprised by violent attacks of the regime's security forces, some were shot and thrown several stories from the balconies and many were violently beaten. What came next was the vicious beaten of hundreds of students by the security forces of the Islamic Republic, the thugs who sometimes even are in civilian attire. Several students, such as Ezzat Ebrahim-nejad, will be killed by the security apparatus.

This tragic event was the basis for the mass demonstration which followed and lasted for 5 days. Several hundreds of students were beaten, many lost their lives, and many ended up in the regime's dungeons where they're still being kept.
